Social networking is an amazing thing

I just received an email from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences (the specific college in Northwestern that I applied to as a Chem major) encouraging me to join the Weinberg 2016 Facebook group.  In the past 24 hours, 570 of us have joined the group and have already started introducing/getting to know each other!

The Big Ten

Interested in sports?  Northwestern is a Division I school, extremely competitive in 25 sports (men's:12 ; women's: 13)

The Big Ten actually consists of 12 schools: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; Indiana University; University of Iowa; University of Michigan; Michigan State University; University of Minnesota; University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Northwestern University; Ohio State University; Pennsylvania State University; Purdue University; and University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Northwestern is located in the tiny suburb Evanston, Illinois.  It is full of "ma & pa" shops and boutiques lining the street.  The campus is located right along Lake Michigan, and there is even a private beach for students!

The excitement of Chicago is a mere 30 minutes away from Northwestern's campus!

A group of 9 male pioneers came together in May of 1850, all with the dream of founding an institution to promote higher education.  Their dream came true as Northwestern University was founded on January 28, 1851.
